i made a short, last minute trip back to taiwan last week.
it wasn't the usual kind of visit. instead of trying to see as much as possible, i wanted to spend the time quietly to observe and slowly take in the everyday patterns around me.
each morning, i wandered through the neighborhood market, watching the city wake up.
vendors unpacked crates of vegetables and arranged fruits in careful piles, while regular customers arrived early, stopping by on foot, bicycle, or scooter to pick up fresh ingredients.
for a little while, it felt good just to simply stand there and watch the small routines that quietly begin each day.
